Fundraising Events

We need $150,000 to cover our expenses to Washington.  The following are upcoming JP Taravella Band events you can participate in to help:

  • ANYTIME  Donate to the JP Taravella Band through Neighbors4Neighbors and the Knights Foundation will match donations dollar for dollar up to $20,000 donated!  Donations for the Knight Foundation challenge can be made on Neighbors4Neighbors.org.  Click on Donate now and be sure to indicate JP Taravella High School Band as the "Intention of Donation".  You may want to print the page before clicking 'Submit Donation' as the confirmation does not have as much detail.

     

    Donations can also be made by mailing checks to Neighbors 4 Neighbors.

  • 12/15/2008  Annual Prism Concert at JP Taravella HS.  Tickets are only $5 at the door.  This is a spectacular musical event!
  • 12/20/2008 Carwash Advanced Auto Parts on the corner of Riverside and University Drive from 9am to 3pm.  What a great pre-Holiday gift!   
  • 12/22/2008 Wings Plus Night fundraiser Sample Road location 9880 West Sample Rd. Monday, December 22nd from 5pm-11pm.  Mr.Cerra and Stephanie Kraft are planning on attending. The band will receive 25% of sales.   Great food, great company, GREAT CAUSE!  We need to present this flyer for credit.

  • 01/11/2009 JPT Band and Applebee's are hosting a BBQ Feast at JP Taravella HS, from 1:30-3:30pm.  Enjoy mouthwatering Applebee’s Riblets, their famous Oriental salad and downright sinful Dessert Shooters, all for only $10.00!  All proceeds will go to sending the band to Washington.  Click here for information on how to order tickets.
  • 01/12/2009 Gold Coast Grill at The Walk in Coral Springs from 6-7pm.  Get a choice of  their delicious Dijon Tomato Horseradish Crusted Salmon or their amazing Almond Crusted Mahi Mahi dishes for only $10!  100% of the proceeds go to the band's trip.  Click here for more information.
  • 01/13/2009 Lefty's at Heron Lakes Happy Hour from 6:30-8:30pm.  Get 2 drinks and an appetizer for only $15!
  • 01/14/2009 Whole Foods Market from 3:00-4:00pm members of the J.P. Taravella High School Band perform at Whole Food Market of Coral Springs 2 days before they leave for Washington D.C. Representatives of the school will accept cash or checks in front of the store.
  • 01/14/2009 Hair Cuttery on University Drive and Ramblewood Drive is hosting a hair cut-a-thon from 8:00-9:30pm Hair cuts will cost only $10.00 each and all money brought in will go to the band.  There will also be products for sale and raffle items. 
  • Every Order Placed through January 16, 2009 Avon is donating almost 40% of all items sold (25% for licensed products) through Avon Representative Shelley Daley's website.  Shelley has also included a free shipping code on the site.

  • (01/15/2009) If you need any information about us while we're away, Mike Oliver is our at home hot-line. 

  • (01/09/2009) Note: The rehearsal times next week have changed.  Rehearsal on Tuesday, January 13 is from 1:00-4:00pm.  Rehearsal Thursday, January 15 is from 1:30-4:30.

  • (01/09/2009) IMPORTANT TIME CHANGE:  Our departure time has changed.  All participants must report to the Taravella HS Band Room by 10:30 am on Friday, January 16 for packing and departure.  Our new departure time is 12:00 noon.

  • (01/08/2009) This Insurance Form MUST be completed, to either accept or deny the additional coverage,  signed and turned in no later than Sunday at the Applebee's BBQ.    These forms must be shipped overnight to the travel company.

  • (01/05/2009) The Official Presidential Inaugural Store is now open. The Inaugural Store is the only place where you'll find the official merchandise of the Presidential Inaugural Committee - everything from apparel and artwork to glassware emblazoned with the Inaugural seal.  All items are limited edition and available only while supplies last.

  • (12/24/2008) Hoodies and Jackets

    NEEDED: Hoodie sizes for all students going on Washington DC trip and JPT jacket sizes for those students needing to purchase one. Unfortunately, we cannot wait until we get back to school, or we will not get the merchandise in time for the trip. At this time, we hope to include the hoodie for all students on the trip.  Any adults or students wanting a hoodie, that is not on the trip, the cost is $25.00.  Jackets are required for all students and need to be purchased at the reduced rate of $42.00 for sizes small, medium, large and x-large.  2XL price is $45.00 and 3XL is $46.00. Please contact Debbie Rabinowitz immediately if you are... 1. interested in purchasing a jacket at this reduced rate, 2. interested in purchasing a hoodie, OR 3. still need to give your hoodie size.  In addition, all students should have paid their fair share and at least $250.00 deposit towards the trip. This is now past due.

  • (12/22/2008) Car Wash #2 Info

    We did so well at the last car wash, that we decided to have another car wash this Saturday, December 27th from 9 AM - 3 PM at the Advanced Auto Parts Store on University Drive and Riverside Drive.  Please email Debbie Rabinowitz if you can work either the 9-12 shift, 12-3 shift or all day 9-3 shift.

  • (12/12/2008) Important DC Info

    At 8:00 am this morning, additional members being added to the DC trip was stopped due to space issues.  We are now creating a waiting list for those wishing to get on board and will add additional personnel as others decide they will not be able to afford the projected $500.00 cost of the trip (the actual cost is approx. $855.00), or get their outstanding Fair Shares cleared.  We hope that donations will cover the additional cost we are facing for hotel rooms, but this is no guarantee.  If someone needs to back-out, now is the time.  Paper work for security clearances is being completed this week and must be finalized by Tuesday of next week.  Final decisions need to be made NOW.  Please return the SS request form that was sent home today with your child.  This is very important and needs to be in our hands by Monday 12/15/2008.
